Joomla or Wordpress
First of all, both Joomla and Wordpress are great systems for managing your website. I've been using Joomla for years and have just recently - the last few months - been building sites with Wordpress.
My last 4 sites have been built with Joomla 1.6 and Wordpress 3.0. This post and subsequent posts on this topic will compare the pros and cons of each system based on my own observations and observing others as they try and keep their website updated. How their sites fare in search engine placement will also be addressed.
Case Study - Website for a Small School
Saint Michael's Catholic School had a small web page created by a parent. The site was stagnant because no one knew how to update it. After 3 years of experimenting with joomla and various extensions Saint Michael's website is an active, vibrant site. Teachers and activity leaders have tried various calendars and content creation tools throughout the years. But this year has been so good. This year we found the right tools and the teachers and others are all blogging away.
