Websites for your School, Church or any other Community Organization

E-mail Print PDF

Our specialty is developing and supporting community websites. Our goal is to help you develop and maintain an easy-to-use (see case study for school website), well-designed and well-performing website. Let's face it, it is hard for one person to keep up with everything going on in your organization so you need a website where multiple users can add information easily. Our websites enable secure, easy multiuser updating so that your community stays well informed.

A beautifully designed, well-managed, and frequently updated website gives an organization credibilty. A great website is also a powerful marketing tool. And you can use your website for Online Fundraising. Our websites use the content management system called Joomla and are optimized to fit the needs of your church, school, or organization. Joomla is a very popular content management system around the world and there are hundreds of talented graphic designers developing great templates every day. It doesn't take long to create an organized, functional, professional website with joomla. Using a content management system simplifies management for a moderately complex website and Joomla makes it easy to get it done fast.

Template/Design:

After getting a basic feel for content and site purpose it is time to create the Template or Design.
Once we have a basic site structure and understand your site's purpose we can propose a few designs - either create one from scatch or use a pre-exiting template. It is faster and cheaper to use a pre-existing template but we are happy to build one from scratch or use one from another designer.

Installing Functionality:
If you'd like a custom form, shopping cart, newsletter, forum - any thing to make your site a better customer experience. We can install or develop whatever you need.

Testing and SEO:
After it's all good and you are satisfied there's more testing. We want your site to be robust, secure and usable - we always thoroughly test our sites. We also want your site to fare well on the search engines. We make sure your site is designed to be as search engine friendly as possible.

Documentation:
If we use a third party solution for your site all versions and file changes will be noted so that it is easy for us or another developer to efficiently upgrade and maintain your site.

Now You've Got a Website, How are you going to keep it Updated?

E-mail Print PDF

Joomla websites enable multiple users to add content easily. So, generating content for your website may not be too difficult. But, there are many other tasks required for a secure and updated website. Tybee Web Design recommends the members of the organization add the content and we can help you manage it and display it effectively. We can also help you:

  • manage your email accounts
  • update your software (joomla gets a new update about every 3 months)
  • backup your site
  • help with testing
  • do some simple search engine optimization
  • send out newsletters
  • check for dead links
  • monitor your site for outdated content
  • provide support for your users (trust me, they will need some support and we are good at explaining our tools) and
  • any other task that you, as the website owner, do not want to do.

Spreading out the website maintenance and support among staff members and website designers can help decrease the overall cost for developing and maintaining a professional, good-looking and useful website.  Since our specialty is designing websites for schools and other community organizations we know our process makes sense and helps you get the best website and service for your dollar and your time.

Website Maintenance fees are negotiable and fair and are dependent upon type and frequency of updates.

What is SEO?

E-mail Print PDF

SEO is search engine optimization. Remember in the old days when the way people found your business was searching the yellow pages. So simple - you pick the right category and name your company something like AAA super company. The AAA pushed you to the top and everyone called. Not so anymore. It is not that easy to get to the top of the search engine's result page.

We utilize organic methods to make your website search engine friendly. These methods are put in place as your website is being created. Planning for SEO at the beginning of a project is much easier than going back and doing it later.  Your school website or community website needs to be indexed and the content needs to arranged so that your members and search engines can easily find you and things on your website.
